Founded nearly 95 years ago and headquartered in Las Vegas since 1958, Southwest Gas has played an important role in fueling Nevada’s homes, businesses and economic development through safe, reliable, affordable natural gas service. Safety First remains the company’s highest priority and a core value that guides every aspect of operations, from infrastructure investment and system modernization to employee training and customer education.

Southwest Gas also believes strong communities are built through strong relationships. The company works alongside municipalities, chambers of commerce and community organizations to support the energy infrastructure needed to expand neighborhoods, fuel small businesses and attract major development projects throughout the state. The impact of natural gas is not tied to any single project, but the foundation it helps provide for entire communities — the homes, schools, hospitals, restaurants and businesses that grow alongside it.

This year also marks the 60th anniversary of the Southwest Gas Foundation, which supports nonprofits and community programs. Through the Foundation, the FUEL for LIFE employee giving campaign, and the BLUE (Building Lives Up Everywhere) volunteer initiative, the company and its employees contribute thousands of hours and millions of dollars in support to causes on food security, education, housing stability, veterans services and beautification.
